The cry of earthquake victims, "Oh God, don't let the rain come." We don't live after it rains.'

Jajarkot, “Earthquake destroyed the house in the middle of the night. The loss of family and friends broke the heart. My brother-in-law is gone, my son is gone, what a calamity has happened”, Bhadra Bahadur laments looking at the torn house.

Bhadra Bahadur Vick of Nalgad Municipality 1 Chiuri of Jajarkot faced a big disaster. He lost his brother-in-law and son in the earthquake that happened on 17th Kartik. The voice of the brother-in-law, who was affected by the earthquake, "Bachau Bachau" still resonates in Bhadra Bahadur's psyche. The brothers-in-law who were trapped in the earthquake could not be saved while trying to rescue them. Remembering this, Bahadur Brother cried remembering his sister-in-law's family.

As a result of the earthquake, the houses built by laborers for years in different streets of Himachal Pradesh, India, are in a dilemma of how to survive after the earthquake collapsed. Bhadra Bahadur said, "Those who died in the earthquake died while we survived the earthquake." There is no employment in the country, there is no hope of production," Bhadra Bahadur said. "For six years of living under the open sky, there is not even a house built by hand in India, how will we survive now?"

There is no employment in Nepal. The country is becoming poorer day by day," said Bhadra Bahadur, "Hope for something in Nepal is like telling the fruit of the sky to die. At the time of such a calamity, we cannot get relief here, what else can we hope for?"

55-year-old Hire Vick and his family died after the house built by laborers for years in various streets of Himachal Pradesh, India, was torn apart by the earthquake.

It was only a few days ago that 55-year-old Hire Vick, Bhadra Bahadur's brother, returned home from Himachal, India to celebrate Dasai in order to raise his family after suffering in India. He had been raising his family by doing wage labor in Himachal for years. Two years ago, he built a two-story house in the village with the money from his wages. But four members of the family lost their lives along with Hire after being buried in the same house that he had built for years.

In the earthquake that happened on 17 kartik, the house built by Hire as a wage laborer was destroyed. 39-year-old wife Chandrakali Vick, 14-year-old son Bimal and 12-year-old younger son Sunil lost their lives as a result of falling into it. Uncle Bhadra Bahadur managed to rescue 9-year-old daughter Premkali from the rubble.

When there was a commotion in the village……..

When the earthquake happened at night, Hire's brother Bhadra Bahadur had gone to the garden to water the vegetables. He was shocked when the ground suddenly began to shake. In a moment, he heard the noise of the neighborhood. "There was an uproar and crying in the village. The family started screaming. The house collapsed. Later, when the children said that their parents were buried, we hurriedly went to the house where the brother-in-law was sleeping," said Bhadra Bahadur.

Bhadra Bahadur's house has also been destroyed. Nothing happened to Bhadra Bahadur's family. Daughter Rupa was sleeping at her brother's house. Hire's house is about 50 meters away from Bhadra Bahadur's house.

"The brother was saying 'Bachau Bachau' for half an hour," he said, "The daughter's legs were seen upstairs. We managed to save both the daughters. The brothers-in-law are lying on the ground, they could not be saved."

He said, "Had there been rescue materials, the brother-in-law and two sons could have been rescued as well." The elder brother was scared by saying that he has taken me out quickly. Dai's breathing stopped as he scooped up the soil with his hands. By the time the body was removed, it was 5 o'clock in the morning.

After the house collapsed, all the rescue equipment was brought, which made it very difficult to rescue," he said. The elder brother was scared by saying that he has taken me out quickly. Dai's breathing stopped as he scooped up the soil with his hands. By the time the body was removed, it was 5 o'clock in the morning.

Mother, father and brother had said “Save”: Premkala bk

It took half an hour to rescue Rupa and Premkala. But it took five hours to remove the soil to the lower floor. Bhadra Bahadur says that he has been hearing Dai Hire's voice for an hour saying, "Put the soil away, take me out". Then the sound stopped. “The nannies are upstairs, found soon. The brothers are sleeping downstairs. He was talking for an hour, then he lost his breath."

Hire's daughter Premkala studies in Class 3 at Nera Primary School in Chiuri. Premkala was injured. Even after being buried in the mud, Premkala, who is still hearing her father, brother and mother saying "Save, save", says, "Uncle took my sister and me out." We did not know anything later. First, mother, father and brother said 'save'."

Bhadra Bahadur and his son Abhilal had no means to rescue the buried immediately. Abhilal Vick says that he saved Premkala and Rupa by picking up the debris with his hands. He says, “The feet of the first form were seen. It took half an hour to get him out.”

He says, “The feet of the first form were seen. It took half an hour to get him out. The big father (Hire) was saying 'juwale chapeko chu, tan'. Nothing of love was seen. She was later found only after two feet of mud had been drawn up. Everyone had dirt on their noses and mouths. After removing the soil, the breath came."

Thirteen people lost their lives in the earthquake in Chiuri village alone. Details of casualty have not been collected. According to the ward office, 15 people are seriously injured. Only 56 houses of this village have been destroyed. The rest of the house is also unlivable.

The local people of Chiuri had just brought in food crops. Tilak Vick, a local, says that all the grain has been buried. Now during the winter everyone spends the night under the open sky in the wheat fields spread with straw. Their cry is, 'O God, let the rain not come. We don't survive when it rains. In Chiuri village alone, 168 families like Tilak are under the open sky.

Dhan Bahadur Mahar, the ward president of Nalgad-1, says that it is difficult to manage the victims because there is no budget in the ward. So far, 13 people have lost their lives in Chiuri of Nalgad-1, 7 in Pali and 5 in Kalpat. There are 700 houses in all the villages of this ward. Mahar says that most of them are damaged.
